Dream

"..If it’s not him, it would never be him no matter how much I am in love w/ him. But incase, just incase he's for me, he'll always be for me.. no matter how often I set him free.."

I dreamt about my old friend, John Jay Buenaventura, last night. I really am bothered by the dream. In the dream, I went to school and he saw me there. I gave him this huge bag of chips that I have. I was avoiding him so I went away after that. I was walking in the dark street outside school when he walked behind me with a friend of his that I don’t know. When we reached the intersection, he bid farewell to his friend who went straight ahead. He held my hand and asked me why I was avoiding him. These are the exact words:

“Iniiwasan mo ba ‘ko? (Are you avoiding me?)” I answered him ‘no’.

Then we walked along this long dark road, he still held my hand then we reached this hut where there’s Julie Asentista and a couple of people that I don’t know. We talked, I told him the truth. I cried. I heard the things I wanted to hear all my life. “I don’t want you to avoid me.” I was a bit disappointed in the dream because he didn’t tell me that he liked me. But I guess that’s how it is because I know that he likes someone else. Then, when I turned, he wasn’t there anymore, instead, Ferdz was there. That was awfully weird.

I woke up thinking, I looked at Ferdz’ picture at my desk. I guess I miss him. I guess I also miss Jhay. I didn’t buy him anything for his graduation because Ria told me that perhaps, he is just being nice to me because he knows that I like him. Yeah, I thought so too. He’s just nice to me because he’s a gentleman. I did like him before. But not anymore, what I had with Jhay was just a part of my past. I will always miss him. Yet, I don’t think that I am gonna be the one that’ll make the move to see him.

If I see him again, I’ll be the happiest person. But I am not ready yet. I can’t even send him a text message. I don’t want to. I don’t want to miss anybody anymore. I just wish that wherever he’s gonna be and whatever he’s gonna do, he’ll be happy no matter what.

Anime Favorites

As a common Filipino kid, I grew up in a world of Anime. I remember that I played Voltes V with my friends. And I will never forget the time when my friends and I called ourselves Sailormoon, Chibimoon etc.

Well, all of us has their favorite anime series and anime characters. I have a lot of them. I’m gonna rank them now and hope to find people who likes them as much as I do.

ANIME SERIES

Samurai X – talk about sword slashing and cool fighting, Samurai X will be the first in my list. Except for the fact that it has thought us a little bit of Japan’s history, all the effects and the skills the different swordsman showed were not just made up of magical stuff. To think, the characters relied on their skills and developed their swordsmanship on their own. It is not magically given to them. Also, the story is very strong and very original. I haven’t seen any other anime series that can be compared to the unique story of the Samurai X

Neon Genesis Evangelion – robots and aliens are just cool or what? Neon Genesis Evangelion portrayed the fear most kids have—facing aliens and invasion. The characters are also cool. Rei Ayanami and Sinji Ikari is a match not so likely made in heaven yet they made the best match there is. LOL!
Inuyasha – when I first watched Inuyasha, my imagination was quickly tickled by its love story. How can a high school girl from the present fell inlove with a half monster-half human guy from the past. If they get together, where will they settle? LOL! The creator made a very unique love story amidst the magical story and complicated past of Inuyasha.

Atashinchi – if you want to laugh and see yourself in an anime character, watch Atashinchi. I can’t help but laugh whenever I watch it. My mom hates it when I tell her that I see our family in the characters. Atashinchi is an anime that shows the common happenings inside a household. They have the same issues that a common family has. Like when a mom keeps on nagging the kids to keep the house clean and the kids keep on forgetting to do so. Stuff like that are shown in a funny way that’s why I just love Atashinchi.

Cardcaptor Sakura – I have Cardcaptor Sakura DVD’s and I also have the complete set of Sakura Cards. Am I just a fan or what?!
I love the magical feel Sakura gave its fans. Every little girl has their Princess hero, right? And I guess Sakura will be mine.

21 Years of Living (part 1)

It took me 21 years to realize that I have lived enough to experience a lot of things in this life. I was cooking while watching an animated version of Azumanga Daio (well, it has nothing to do with my realization) when I thought that I should write some important events in my life.

The oldest memory I have was the time I woke up in our house at Caloocan. I jumped off the bed and looked for my mom. Then, one fondest memory during those days that I have is the time when I got sick and I had to sleep in my parent’s bedroom. My big brother crawled a lot of times to peek in the room. I caught him doing that. I guess he’s not used to sleeping alone since we share the same bedroom. I guess I was 3 years old during that time.

The next memory that I will never forget is the time when I was kidnapped. I was 4 years old and my mom brought us to Grand Central Mall. We were in the Ladies Shoes and my mom left us at the bench nearby. She reminded us to stay there and we did. Well, it was I who did that. After a couple of minutes, my brother told me that he will go to see my mom because she’s taking to long. He told me to stay where I am. It wasn’t too long when he left when a lady approached me. She grabbed my hand and told me that my mom is looking for me. I protested and told her that my mom is in the opposite direction in which she is pointing. But she pulled me from my seat and the next thing I know, we are walking in the huge mall. She carried me before we got out of the door. Then, there was this large staircase. We passed the exit and I saw a man standing outside. He is wearing a white shirt and maong pants. We had an eye contact. Then, the lady brought me to the side walk. She told me that I should give her my jewelries because they might get lost. I didn’t answer any of her questions because I was busy looking for my mom and brother. I remembered that I was terrified during that time but I didn’t cry. She was finished taking off my jewelries and I saw her place them in her handkerchief (kidnappers bring handkerchief and it has a pink floral design in it). Then, she placed the handkerchief in her back pocket when the man I saw earlier approached us. She grabbed my hand and asked the lady, “Anak mo ba ‘to?” “Is she your daughter?” She answered arrogantly and told the man that I ma her daughter. Then, the man told her that we don’t look alike. When the lady asked him to get lost, the man introduced himself as a police and showed his badge. He carried me and asked me if the lady was my mom and of course, I told him that she is not. He held the lady by her belt and told her that she is arrested for kidnapping. I cried a lot because I thought that I was the one arrested. Then, the police brought the two of us in the basement police station of the mall where I found my mom and brother waiting for me. I hugged my mom so tight and cried out loud. My brother sat beside us with the guilty look on his face. He held my hand all the time. After that incident, even if we are all grown up, my brother holds my hand or arm when we are outside of the house. Perhaps he wouldn’t want to be responsible for anything like that anymore.

I was six years old and I can clearly remember when my sister was born. We were at the house of our grandparents that time since my mom decided have a traditional house birth. I was in a room together with my big brother and cousin and we were told by our aunt to stay there because kids are not allowed to see child birth. So, we stayed there for a couple of minutes and jumped at the bed. I heard my mom shouting so I sneaked out of the room. I hid behind a sofa and saw her give birth. I saw my sister covered with blood and all. I also saw the placenta that comes out after the baby. I was fascinated and didn’t even felt scared or what. The midwife placed the placenta in a wide mouthed container and set it aside. I heard that they will bury it afterwards. I crawled and was about to touch it when my aunt caught me and took me back inside the room. That was the beginning of my liking with bloody and weird stuff.

During elementary, I remembered that I had a huge crush n one of my schoolmates. He is Marco Rico Marciano. I wonder where he is. LOL! Well, it was during that time that I guess I’ve experienced puppy love. I also had a crush with one of my bus mates. He is Rizalito Abad. Cool names huh?! I’ve had a lot of them but I don’t want to recall all their names. LOL!

Then, I also had childhood friends. We transferred in Mandaluyong after my mom gave birth to my sister. I met Honeylie Nisperos, Airaleen Goot, Alexandra Pascua and Lemuel Nisperos. Honey and I have communication. But I lost touch with the others. Well, I guess that’s how it is. The funny thing though is I had a college classmate who is the cousin of Honey and Lemuel. Cool, huh?!

I was hit by a passenger motorcycle when I was in prep class. I was crossing the street to buy iced candy for my mom who is pregnant that time with my fourth sister. I went to the store and found out that the flavor my mom wants is not available that time. So I ran back home to ask her what she wants. I was about just a street away from our gate when I was hit by a motorcycle. I cried out loud that all of the people in the warehouse went out (we live in the compound of my dad’s boss). They opened the main gate so wide that I saw the whole place while lying down the street. The driver decided to make a run for it as my dad carried me in his arms. Then, the next thing I know was the men in the warehouse drove the truck in pursuit of the driver. As I write it down, I am laughing because I find that funny. I was brought to the hospital together with the driver. Then, I was fine. No injuries whatsoever. I just got an abrasion. No big deal.

If I write the whole story of my life in one entry, it will take forever. So, I’ve decided to cut it short and write the next half some other time.

on drug test and samples

I got hired in this call center at Novaliches. I had to undergo medical exam which is okay because I’ve had medical exams before and I know the way they do things. But this is my first time to undergo drug test.

I was asked to give a urine sample. I really hate that part. I had to wait and drink lots of fluid so I can pee. When I was finally ready and I really felt like having a piss, I told the nurse that I’m ready to give some urine sample. She let me in inside the laboratory and told me that my things are not allowed inside the cubicle. I left my things in the laboratory as she gave me two cups that I’m supposed to fill. Whew~ that was awful. I really hated doing that kind of stuff. Then, she made me wait a little longer, asked me if I really felt like having a piss. (The hell I did) Then, she escorted me to this special cubicle for drug testing. She instructed me to place the cups on a special window connected to the laboratory, turn off the lights and lock the door before leaving.

The biggest surprise was, there was no faucet in the cubicle. It was a waterless urinal and it stinks like hell. Well, that’s the only part that I didn’t like. They really make sure that I don’t get my urine sample from others. It was a great protocol because we are sure that real drug users have no excuse and they will be reprimanded, rehabilitated and given the right treatment once caught abusing drugs.

Blissful Job Hunting

I was on my way to Teletech Novaliches this moring to apply for a job. As I as was crossing Quirino Highway, I got into an accident. I was hit by a motorcycle.
I was already by the island in front of Robinsons Novaliches when all of a sudden, I saw my self sitting on the road. It hurts a lot. But the good thing about that is I was only hit by a motorcycle (not a car or a jeep or a truck!) and I don’t have any injuries. My butt hurts but its okay. The only thing that I did is took the plate number of the guy and he willingly gave me his contact number. I still went directly to Teletech. Luckily, I passed the exams and the interviews. I am scheduled for the operations interview tomorrow.
I thought being hit by a motorcycle is a bad omen. But I still pursued my real plan. If I didn’t go to Teletech, I may not be able to feel happy now that I passed the initial screening. I am proud that I did. My brother works there and I am happy that I didn’t fail his expectations.
I realized that once a person gets into that kind of experience, one looses the right mind set. I can’t think during the moment. I don’t know what exactly to do. My mind was in complete blur. So, wherever you are, you have to be careful in everything you do. You don’t know when you’ll get into an accident. Sometimes, others are unlucky that when they get into something such as this, they aren’t lucky enough to survive.
Well, I hope for the best. I hope that I get the job tomorrow. I really want to have a job soon so I can help my family. I also want to support myself.

Job Hunting

Karmi, Ate Lyn and I went to a couple of call centers to apply for a job. It is not difficult to get into a call center, the thing is, when the HR people doesn’t like you, you better get out of that place.
We applied at this call enter in Shaw Blvd. It doesn’t have a very good reputation and my friends who came from that place told us that compared to other popular call centers, it doesn’t have a lot to offer.
We arrived there after going to Makati. We never really planned to apply that day, but since the building is on the way, we decided to drop by. It was easy, the HR guy told us to tell something about ourselves and we did. But before that, he noticed my outfit. Honestly, I was just wearing pants and shirt. Modesty aside, compared to the other guys in the room, Ate Lyn and I have an edge. I speak in English well. Knowing my background, my training and stuff, I better be good or my mentors would kill me.
The thing that really pissed me off is his excuse, he told those who failed the interview that they should develop their English further before getting into a call center. Hell! He passed Ate Lyn. Only Ate Lyn. How’s that? Maybe it’s because of the outfit. LOL! First impression is a huge thing in applying for a job and I sucked at that. Well, that’s life.
So we ended up going to the tiangge in Shaw and bought a lot of stuff for our family. I loved it.
It’s hard to get a job so if you happen to find one, love it…!
